New Essay

Hey guys,

I decided to change my idea from cultural imagery differences. I was having trouble finding an issue that I could take a stand on that related to it, I guess.

Anyways, I've decided to do a piece that talks about whether or not we NEED so many fonts these days. I've begun researching and reading quite a bit and have got some real good references, so I think it should turn out well.

Do any of you have a strong belief in this topic? More fonts? Less fonts?

  1. for me, more fonts or not isn't the issue, designers always have their preference in font usage and decision. while you have already aware some fonts are popular than others, so actually some fonts lives longer than those fancy types. that's my idea :)

  2. i don't really have a strong opinion either way, i do think there are loads of crap typefaces out there but they will quickly fade into oblivion and the great ones will live forever! although comic sans is still around.....

  3. as i remember, when i was a beginner, i always wanna load different typefaces into my computer as many as i could, but rarely do the same thing now, because i know most of them are not that useful for me, however they did help when i haven't known much about design but tried to do some. so i think it might vary from person to person. moreover, would it cause any harm to have too many typefaces?
